F.A.Q.: Model Portfolio Photography
-
Not all portfolio photography is equal. Agencies and clients look for specific things:
Versatility — Can you move between commercial smile and editorial intensity?
Range — Do your images show different looks, moods, and styling? Professional polish — Is the lighting, retouching, and composition industry-standard?
Personality — Do the images feel like you, not a generic template?
I build every session around these four pillars. The result? Portfolios that get attention in agency submissions and stand up in competitive castings.

The Process: From Moodboard to Final Images
Every portfolio session starts with collaboration, not just a camera.
1. Pre-Session Consultation & Moodboard
Before we shoot, we define your direction. Who do you want to be seen as? What agencies are you targeting? What gaps exist in your current book? We build a custom moodboard together — selecting references for styling, lighting, poses, and energy that align with your goals.
2. Styling & Direction
Whether you bring your own wardrobe or we collaborate with stylists, every look is intentional. I guide you through posing and expression — especially important for new faces. You don't need years of runway experience. My direction helps you find your natural confidence and translate it in front of the camera.
3. The Shoot
We shoot in-studio or on-location across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Byron Bay. Studio sessions offer controlled lighting and clean backdrops perfect for agency digitals and beauty shots. Location shoots add editorial depth and environmental storytelling.
4. Selection & Retouching
After the shoot, you receive a curated gallery to select your final images. Every chosen shot receives professional retouching — polished enough for agency standards, natural enough to still look like you.
5. Delivery
15 fully edited, high-resolution images delivered digitally, ready for print portfolios, online submissions, and social media.

New Faces Building your first portfolio? I'll guide you through every step — from what to wear to how to stand in front of the camera. No prior experience needed.
Experienced Models Refreshing your book, pivoting your look, or adding new categories (beauty, commercial, editorial)? We'll identify what's missing and fill the gaps strategically.
Agency-Represented Models Need digitals, comp card updates, or fresh content for your agency's submissions? I understand agency standards and deliver images that meet them.

Your portfolio is an investment in your career. Let's make it one that pays off.
Send an inquiry for availability. I'll respond within 24 hours with next steps, package details, and available dates.
Based in Brisbane. Shooting across Queensland and Australia-wide.
-
How far in advance should I book? Send an inquiry as soon as you know your timeline. Popular slots fill quickly, especially for weekend sessions.
Do I need modelling experience? Not at all. I specialize in working with new faces and provide full posing direction to help you look natural and confident.
What should I bring to the shoot? We'll discuss wardrobe during your pre-session consultation. Generally, bring a range of fitted, simple pieces in neutral tones — plus any statement items that reflect your personal style.
Can you help me get signed to an agency? While I don't guarantee representation, I understand what agencies look for and structure portfolio sessions to meet those standards. Many of my clients have successfully secured agency contracts using imagery from our shoots.
Do you travel outside Brisbane? Yes. I regularly shoot on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, and am available for Australia-wide travel. Travel fees apply for locations outside South East Queensland.
How many looks can we fit in 2 hours? Typically 2–3 looks depending on complexity. We can discuss extending the session if you need more variety.
What's the difference between studio and location shoots? Studio shoots offer clean, controlled imagery perfect for digitals and beauty shots. Location shoots provide environmental context and editorial storytelling. Many models choose both to maximize versatility.

Paris. New York. Sydney. Brisbane.
That international experience shapes how I approach every session — bringing editorial sensibility, commercial awareness, and high-fashion polish to work created right here in Australia.
F.A.Q.: Editorial Photography
-
Fashion Editorials From avant-garde concept pieces to refined luxury storytelling. I build fashion narratives where the clothing serves the story, not the other way around.
Portrait Series Environmental, studio, or documentary-style portraits that reveal something true about the subject. For features, profiles, and cover stories.
Documentary & Reportage Long-form visual stories with depth and context. Social issues, subcultures, behind-the-scenes access — work that earns its space in print.
Cover Stories High-stakes, high-impact imagery designed to sell issues and define cultural moments.
Online Editorial Fast-turnaround, platform-optimised content for digital publications and branded editorial partnerships.
-
Whether I'm pitching you a story or executing your brief, the workflow is built for editorial rigour.
1. Concept & Pitch
For commissioned work: I absorb your brief, your audience, and your visual language. Then I build a concept that serves the story while bringing something unexpected.
For original pitches: I develop fully-formed story proposals — concept, moodboard, casting direction, location strategy, and visual approach — ready for your editorial meeting.
2. Pre-Production
Moodboards, shot lists, casting, location scouting, permits, and scheduling. I coordinate styling, hair, and makeup teams when needed, or integrate seamlessly with your in-house crew. Every detail is locked before we shoot.
3. The Shoot
Studio or on-location across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, and Australia-wide. I direct with clarity, adapt to the unexpected, and capture the images we need plus the ones we didn't know we were looking for.
4. Post-Production & Delivery
Tight editing, professional retouching, and colour grading. Delivered in your required formats, on deadline, with clear usage terms.
Standard deliverable: 5 images per look. Flexible based on story length and publication needs.

-
Magazine Editors & Art Directors: I understand the pressure of issue deadlines, the need for visual consistency, and the value of a photographer who delivers without drama. I work to your brief and bring ideas that elevate it.
Independent Publications & Journals: Smaller budgets, bigger creative freedom. I love working with editors who take risks and publish work that matters.
Creative Agencies & Brand Partnerships: Editorial-style content for branded publications, lookbooks, and campaign extensions that need storytelling depth.
Direct Commissions & Original Pitches: Have a story that needs telling? Pitch me. Have a brief that needs executing? Commission me.
-
13 Years Across Three Continents: Paris, New York, Sydney, Brisbane. I've shot for publications with global reach and independent journals with cult followings. That range shapes how I approach every story.
Pitch-Ready or Brief-Disciplined: I can originate concepts and sell them to your editorial board. Or I can take your direction and execute it with precision. Both require different muscles. I have both.
Team Player or Team Builder: You have a crew? I integrate. You need a crew? I build one. Editorial photography is collaborative by nature, and I treat every collaborator with respect.
Deadline-Driven: Editorial schedules don't wait. I deliver on time, every time — because a great story that misses the issue date isn't a great story at all.
Flexible Pricing Day rate, per-story, or usage-based: Editorial budgets vary wildly, and I'm transparent about what works for each project. No hidden costs. No post-shoot surprises.
-
Do you pitch stories, or only take commissions? Both. I regularly develop original story concepts and pitch them to editors. I also execute commissioned briefs with full creative and technical capability.
What publications have you worked with? I've contributed to print and online publications across fashion, culture, and documentary spaces. Specific credits available upon request.
How do you price editorial work? Day rate, per-story, or usage-based — depending on the publication, story length, and rights required. I'm transparent about budget constraints and will propose a structure that works for both of us.
What's your typical turnaround? 1–3 weeks from shoot to final delivery, depending on retouching complexity and story length. Rush deadlines possible by arrangement.
Do you travel for editorial work? Yes. I'm based in Brisbane and regularly shoot across the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, and Australia-wide. International travel is possible for the right story.
How many images do you deliver per story? 5 images per look is my standard, but this is flexible based on story length, page count, and publication requirements.
Do you handle casting and styling? I can coordinate full creative teams — casting, styling, hair, and makeup — or work seamlessly with your in-house crew. Whatever serves the story best.
What about exclusivity and usage rights? Clearly defined in every contract. I understand editorial exclusivity windows, territorial restrictions, and syndication rights. No ambiguity.
F.A.Q.: Commercial Photography
-
Fashion Labels Seasonal campaigns, lookbooks, e-commerce, and brand storytelling. I understand garment construction, fabric behaviour, and how to make clothing move and sell.
Beauty Brands Product photography, campaign imagery, and lifestyle content that positions your brand with sophistication and credibility.
Creative Agencies & Art Directors I work to brief, respect the creative vision, and bring technical execution that makes your concept land. No ego. No surprises. Just results.
Direct-to-Consumer Brands Need campaign imagery without the agency overhead? I partner directly with marketing teams and founders to translate brand strategy into visual content.
-
Every commercial project follows a structured workflow designed for clarity, efficiency, and creative excellence.
1. Discovery & Briefing
We start with your objectives. Who is this campaign for? Where will these images live? What is the brand story, and what must the viewer feel? I review your brand guidelines, existing assets, and competitive landscape to ensure alignment from day one.
2. Creative Direction & Moodboard
Based on the brief, I develop a detailed moodboard covering lighting, composition, styling direction, and shot list. This becomes our shared visual contract — ensuring everyone sees the same outcome before we step on set.
3. Pre-Production
Logistics, permits, location scouting, and scheduling. You bring your team — casting, styling, hair, and makeup — and I coordinate seamlessly with them. My role is to ensure the photography serves the broader creative vision, not compete with it.
4. The Shoot
Working on-location at your spaces, selected environments, or hired studios across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, and Australia-wide. I run a calm, efficient set — directing talent, managing lighting, and capturing the shots we need while remaining open to creative evolution on the day.
5. Post-Production & Delivery
Professional retouching, colour grading, and file preparation. Deliverables are formatted for your channels — digital, print, social, or out-of-home — with full usage rights for the agreed campaign scope.

International Experience, Local Execution 13 years across Paris, New York, Sydney, and Brisbane. I bring global campaign sensibility to Australian brands without the global price tag.
Brief-Disciplined, Creative-Fluid I work to your vision and respect the process — while remaining adaptable when creative opportunities emerge on set.
On-Location Specialist I don't rely on a fixed studio. I work where your brand lives — in your spaces, your environments, your world. This creates authenticity that studio-only photography often misses.
Seamless Collaboration You bring your team. I bring mine. Together we build something that works for everyone — especially the final image.
Transparent Pricing Day rate or project-based. No hidden fees. No post-shoot surprises. You know the investment before we start.
-
Do you work with creative agencies or directly with brands? Both. I'm comfortable working under a creative director's vision or partnering directly with brand teams who need end-to-end campaign photography.
What do you need from us before the shoot? A clear brief, brand guidelines, and your creative team (styling, hair, makeup, casting). I handle the photography, pre-production, and on-set coordination. You handle the brand story.
How do you price commercial work? Day rate or project-based, depending on scope. Factors include shoot duration, number of deliverables, usage rights, travel requirements, and post-production complexity. Every quote is custom — no cookie-cutter packages.
How far in advance should we book? Commercial projects typically require 2–4 weeks lead time for proper pre-production. Rush projects are possible depending on availability — send an inquiry and we'll assess.
Do you travel outside Brisbane? Yes. I regularly shoot on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, and am available for Australia-wide travel. Travel and accommodation are quoted transparently upfront.
What file formats do you deliver? High-resolution TIFF or JPEG for print and digital use. RAW files are available by arrangement. All files are colour-graded and retouched to commercial standards.
Can you handle e-commerce as well as campaign imagery? Yes. While my focus is brand campaigns and advertising, I understand the e-commerce workflow and can deliver both hero campaign shots and consistent product imagery within the same project.
What's your turnaround time? Typically 2–4 weeks from shoot to final delivery, depending on project scale and retouching complexity. Rush delivery available by arrangement.
